Does anyone have any ideas on lifting a 26' sailboat off the ground and onto a trailer? The current trailer is totally rotted under it. Maybe a towtruck, backhoe, small crane? If you have these capabilities, I would be more than happy to pay for your time. The boat is on Gulf Breeze. I just need to lift it and put it on my trailer. Thanks

| I have done this several times with sail and power boats. BE CAREFUL! I built a big "A" frame 4X4's, twins joined at the top with a 4X6, added corner braces of 4X4. Get a real good, heavy duty come along or chain hoist. BE CAREFUL! I made it wide enough to span my 20' Correct Craft ski boat in order to lift the engine, but have used it on smaller sailboats so I could repair and/or paint the bottom. If your trailer has a roller at the back end, you lift the bow, back the trailer under it as far as you can, use the trailer winch and take up the slack. The trailer should be attached to your truck. Then release the lifting comealong, move the "A" frame toward the back end of the boat,, get a strap around it, and lift it up. Be sure you are on flat ground. Sometimes, with the brake off and the truck in nuetral, you can use the trailer winch to pull the trailer under the boat. BE CAREFUL! No gaurantees. I have seen improperly built "A" frames collapse, cheap comealongs slip or break and/or operator error cause disaster. I'm not telling you how to do this, just how this old Mississippi boy did it.  What we have done in the past is jacking boat.See if a local marine yard will rent you boat jacks.They look like the ones under bow of boat in photo. Place at 4 points on boat raise slowly by turning jack T bolts until high enough to dismantle old trailer. Then slide new one under it. You will need 2x6 or 2x8 lumber for added support on hull.If you can't get enough jacks get stack cinder blocks by overlaping joints.and place lumber against hull . A crane or wrecker w/slings may be a costly endeavor
 Also reduce weight as much as possible. As we did with the below photo of a 24ft bristol.
