I haven't been out to the jetty in quite a while, and now I remember why. My buddy called me up on saturday and said they were killin the spanish off the jetty. So me and another buddy decided to go out and check it out. We packed light and took a small tackle box filled with jigs, spoons and gotchas, and some wire. Got out there and caught a nice fish on the third cast, good deal. Everything was going good untill this a**hole charter captain decides to come through the pass. I let him get by us a good 75 yards and cast again. Little did I know, this idiot has lines out trolling through the pass. Bam, there went one $3.50 gotcha. Not only does he circle around and come by and do it again getting pretty close to the rocks, but does it a third time before he decides to pull it in and go back to the dock. What the F***!! Over. Maybe this has become a new thing to do, but he was the only one all day to get that close and to troll through the jetties all day. I hope he wasn't actually charging people money for the time he was wasting doing that. I was going to post his name on here, but I've calmed down since Saturday and decided not to. Hopefully that person will see this post and realize what an idiot he was. Other than that, it was a great day. I only caught one spanish, but my buddies all caught a few and the guys on the other side of the rocks caught a couple pompano. What a great day, it was bright and sunny, and I was out gettin my line wet. Good luck guy's.

| Were you on the west or east jetty? I usually work the west jetty. I have had folks pull this same thing - disrespecting the rock fishermen in the process - as if they are obviously more important because they are in a boat - As if any shore fishermen should yield to any water craft. Haven't had an actual charter disturb my fishing but several private boats have either trolled through my obvious casting distance or actually anchored and set out lines right in front of me - making it impossible to continue casting. It is annoying and horribly rude - but I generally just wait for them to pass or move while demonstrating my obvious discontent Glad you got out and caught a few.

I was on the east jetty on the north side torward the end. It was a big charter and like I said, he was the only one all day who did it. It just really chaps my a$$ when a big boat like that does that kind of crap.

Ive had people pull up and anchor 15 ft from the rocks right where I was fishing so they could swim around and spearfish.
ENJOY THE RIDE
