Man, what a week! The seas finally calmed down and the fishing has been red hot.
There have been Sheepies all over the place, in deep holes and rock jetties, Ft. Pickens Pier, and the pass. Not only have the Sheepshead been biting well, but so have the Redfish and a few tasty Grouper have been on the menu. The bite has been very good and it’s only going to get better.  A few of my trips the past few days decided to just catch fish for the fun of it, and so the sheepies were put back to finish up their spawning to help the stock for next year’s Sheepshead run. Again the tide has played a big part on the bite, and they have been eating live shrimp a little better than the fresh dead shrimp, but at least they are eating it. In the past few days we have released over 60 fish and only kept a few for the fryer. If you have never eaten Sheepshead, give it a try, they are fine eating fish, and although they are pain to clean, they are well worth it.

Here are a few pics from my last trips.

---------------------------------------

A double hook up on Redfish is always fun Jessie caught the keeper fish at 26 1/2 inches and Jennifer caught a over sized red at 30 inches which we released after a quick pic !

Matt was all smiles after he hooked his first ever redfish after a quick pic the fish was released.

Joe - Matt - Kyle had a great time hooking up fish all morning!

Terry showing us his first ever Grouper!

This nice Gag hit a live shrimp almost got off in the rocks, but Mark said no way buddy your mine!!

Dan was all smiles after he hooked up on this big red after a quick picture it was release to be caught another day!

Captain John with a huge Sheepshead after a quick picture it was released to be caught another day.

We didn't get a weight, but I'm guessing around 7lb or bigger.

Hope everyone is having a great spring break!

Tight Lines,

Capt. John

Catching those gags mixed in with everything else is a real treat. You have really been on the fish. You and Captain Wes have really been an excellent source of info for everyone. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the kind replys... Today's fishing was tough, the current was RIPPING!!!!!!!

But we did managed to hook a few fish, nothing like yesterday, but hey that's fishing...My clients did manage to hook into some Sheepies for dinner.

No Groupers or Redfish today, heard of  a few Pompano being caught.
