| After I finished my exam yesterday(Tues.) afternoon, I was driving down Scenic and just had to throw a line for a few minutes. I stopped at a little place I know(for reference between Creighton and Olive) and grabbed the rod I have in my truck. The tide seemed to be moving over the point, and I saw some baitfish...good signs. I was using a Cajun Thunder with a DOA suspended beneath about 16 inches. I was casting across the point and letting the tide do all the work. I'd give the rig an occasional pop, as it washed across the point. After a few casts I landed a fat little speck around 15-16" and let him go. Another couple of casts and I landed a better speck 18-19". I decided that I wanted to keep this one. No stringer so, off with my shoelace. Impromptu stringer-Gotta love it! Anyway just before I had to leave, I got another strike, and it turned out to be a fat little redfish. He was between 18-19" also. I was only feeding me so the red went back too. Right about the time my toes got pretty cold(I was wading just a little bit), I had to leave anyway. Not a bad 35 minutes if I do say so myself. Tight Lines. -Jason
