They changed the commercial so it wouldn't be as offensive, that was totally different than the original. Focus on The Family is a hate mongering bigoted group of crazies. That being said, no, the commercial that aired wasn't offensive... but seeing Tim Tebow on TV always offends me. Go Noles!

I'm not angry, I'm just saying that Focus on The Family is a group of whack jobs from Colorado that promote hate and bigotry and use scare tactics to accomplish their goals. I never posted a Bill Maher video, I posted Christopher Hitchens videos. Hitchens is a highly revered public intellectual that takes care to keep his composure and never shows anger one way or another. He doesn't use scare tactics or promote hate, and I am the same way. Do some research on Focus on the Family and you'll see what I'm talking about. I never saw the original, I just read what the plot of the commercial was to be, as was released by whoever filmed it.

| I know all about Focus and you're not accurately portraying them. Hate mongering? Scare tactics? Bigotry? You have any evidence or is this just your opinion? Not what someone else says about them but first hand evidence. You know, like video or audio of their tactics or something? I think it is quite easy to call something a scare tactic when it doesn't agree with your point of view. And by the way, the religion editor of Vanity Fair is not the well respected intellectual you claim him to be. Hitchins actually does get quite frantic when put into a corner. he resorts to name calling when he is losing.

Unfortunately, some people will look at his "blanket" statements and be persuaded to follow his thinking, even thought he offers no real defense except for the thinking of a few other so called "scholars.". I fully respect his right to speak, share opinions, and believe as he wishes. I simply want to hold him accountable for his words. I expect others to do the same to me. I could fish with him or have him and his family over to my house for dinner without any problems. We'd probably become good friends. I love it when people think about these things. Just have a ready defense.

planned parenthood...very well put together commercial...i am so glad both mothers of these two men chose life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the only problem with planned parenthood is that with out abortions they would not make the 100's of millions of dollars they make now on the expense of the so called HEALTH of the mother. Most abortions are done soley to keep from having the responsibility of raising the child
Without abortion they would be broke!

actually the white population in the US is declining due to abortions and the family having less than 2 children per house hold. with this trend the white population will reach a point where they can no longer reproduce faster then the death rate. at that point the white population will be the minority

That guy is too damn sharp and quick on his feet to get backed into a corner, although you may be seeing it from a biased point of view, so that's probably moot.

As for the write-up on Dobson from Skeptictank???? Seriously? Unbiased? Just look at the title of the link. How about some original sources for hate-mongering and bigotry. The two quotes you give seem quite obvious to me. What is outrageous about what Dobson said (I have not verified the quotes so I am taking your word on it.) The first one is quite obvious and definitely true in my upbringing. The second one is common sense as well. Homosexuality cannot provide for the reproduction of humans and, therefore, will lead to human extinction...eventually. Nothing earth shattering here. Let's set up a time for an informal debate. I think it would be fun. I'd like to put a face with a name and get a good burger as well. Don't forget, I'll bring the Kool-Aide.
