Okay folks, I need a huge favor from everybody that fishes for sharks off the beach.  I've heard through the grapevine that the folks out at Navarre are tired of disposing of shark guts left on the beach.  They are so tired of it that they are starting to mumble about not allowing people to shark fish out there.  I ask that everybody be respectful and dispose of the guts/carcus accordingly.  Don't just leave it on the beach.

Thanks folks, and tight lines!

Ya the same assh0les that walk their dogs down the beach with picking the worm ridden fecal matter.... When the deputies start ticketing those folks that walk by the NO DOGS ALLOWED signs they can issue no-shark fishing tickets...

I read your message big man - never have left anything behind out there but ashes and pee holes.

The Irresponsible acts of a few Screw it up for all of us. Fishermen arent high on beach owners list of prioritys. Condo owners etc. The tourist oriented business crowd as well. So if we want to continue all types of fishing as we know it on the beaches, we'd better start acting like it. If you see someone with "Bottles" on the beach, And their fishing, You'd better set them strait or go furthur by calling leo's. To me, certian people who "NIGHT FISH" are out to kill any/ everything just to say they caught it. Some of them as we know are far from fishermen . So to many, it would be more ok to see dog piles than shark guts & beer bottles laying around. Dogs & beer bottles are illeagle on the beach arent they? P.S. I said "Certain People", Not all.

I do keep an occasional blacktip to eat, but I like to catch and release, with pics. And pick up my beer cans when leaving. That way I'm happy, the shark is happy, and the people that think they own the beach are happy.

seems like every time i go to surf, i have to tell someone to get their dog off the beach...

picked up 12 rolling rock bottles off the beach at Calle Hermosa yesterday morning; luckily they left the cardboard 6-pack cases there too, so it wasn't too much to carry.

Get used to it! They're here to stay, Local bussiness want them , Not us. Theres a majical theory about "Tourist", No theory about locals. How to change this? Become local owners, not dependant on snowbird dollars. Good Luck in the state of FLA!

definitely a noble sentiment kons... but I'm afraid that your good intentions may be futile. I'm of the opinion that most of the regular members on this forum would in any situation make the courteous decision. The fishermen guilty of the many things that get bitched about on here are not forum members and will never read your thoughtful post (or  anybody else's). The guilty parties here are not like the rest of us who strive to be informed. here's to hoping.

... seemed like a good idea at the time...

No dogs are allowed on the beach in Navarre and "I think" P'cola....Woody ya'lls condo is in Orange Beach "I thought" so not to sure bout Bama.  It is a $35.00 fine all the way around for dogs/bottles on the beach in Navarre.  Just like the A-HOLES that dump deer carcas's on other folks property or just along the side of the wrong are in this catagory with folks dumping crap on the beach....Heck I had some idiot throw out about 100 lb carcass of a wild hawg along with guts and legs around the middle of my property right on the road.  Someone came the next day and took the head  I thought about putting the head on a post and putting a sign up calling the A-HOLE a few names but I figured I'd be bombarded with deer/dog/cats and what nots....If you like to dump inards and carcass, just step them off into the woods so folks ain't gotta look at em...Friggin' Idiots....OHHHHHHHH don't dump them in the creeks or ponds either  More critters will get to them in the woods!!!

Woody,

Over here, and I think Ala too, you don't own the land on the beach. You own a little bit around the house or condo but once you step about 25 feet out most backdoors here, you're on public property.

... that's why I RARELY Surf on Pensacola Beach anymore ... at least on Perdido Key or in Orange Beach (A.P.) , people police their $hit ... and YES in Alabama or Florida , there is an easement on Beachfront Property , it's X amount of meters ABOVE the High Tide line before you actually OWN the land , the rest belongs to the State .

why the hell is this "free land" so regulated? it looks more like romania or moldovia to me. everything like dogs and camping is forbitten on the beach. Where did the "free" land go. lets call it " no fun allowed country" thats more like it is....
please no racist comments on this, its just a foreigners point of view.

I love dogs but not on the beach. A lot of dog owners neglect to pick up their dog's poop and beach goers run the risk of stepping on those "land mines" while walking on the sand.

it works in walton county, but the sound side would be cool too- but you are still not allowed to take your dog to the sound....
