| I have been fishing the past month but with no serious luck. Just a slot speck here and a another there. Don't get me wrong; I love to fish, but I also love to catch and eat from time to time. Well tonight I decided to go somewhere I have not fished in a while, Orange Beach Pass. Had my lines in the water baited up for about an hour and a half. It was a nice night and the tide had already come in. My Okuma Salena started to scream, and about eight minutes later this was the end result! Normally I do not keep reds this size, even in Al. but I had to. I have been in an awful drought for the past month, and only caught a few specks and one slot red. And released all of those guys, bringing home one small fish isn't great table worthiness. I have been drooling for fish lately and will never buy any from the market. Well im good for a nice fish fry and red on the half with some friends, ya think?

If we don't go then we won't know!

| Nice. However, there are plenty of there are plenty better tasting slot fish to catch here in Florida. Killing over-slot breeder fish like that just doesn't make sense. I'm not hating, but that fish could've been easily replaced by an easily accessible slot fish in ANY one of the bayous in Florida. Eating larger fish doesn't make sense. Even if you guys call me a hater, I will stand by it. Find a river, buy a gold spoon, and catch all the slots in the world.

But the bigguns carry more bragging rights, and as long as you do eat it (and ofcourse act within the law) then I say take em home. And like he said, he's been having a DROUGHT of fish lately, and his little tummy was growling. I see where you're coming from, but I understand why he took it home. I personally never keep an overslot fish, but keep every slot one I catch.
I life without fishing is one not worth living
