| Son # 2 and I took kayaks to our old reliable fishing hole- Bon Secour River over here in Alabama. His first cast yielded a nice 2 1/2- 3 pound speck. It was slow after that, but enough fish came over the side to make a mess. Live shrimp under popping corks were what they wanted today. We took home about 8 specks and a couple of small sheepshead- the big old girls aren't showing up yet, or perhaps they have moved to Mobile Bay reefs. anyway, it was fun getting to fish with Son #2- he's in from college for holidays- Oh, yeah. I have my first grandson born 12-24-08 in St. Louis. he has two fishing rods already- a Shrek and a Spiderman- whichever fits his hand better, I think. It was good to get on the water!
