Got out this morning on a hunt for specks. Water was muddy and surprisingly low. I trolled around with my favorite DOA to locate some fish. Was'nt long before I found a nice hole about 6-8' that was loaded with specks. Caught around 30...most under slot range. Ended up taking 5 ranging from 15" to 20". Cold morning..but well worth it.

Nice! Glad to see someone had a good morning. I fished way up Blackwater this morning prefishing for a charter but it was extremely muddy and there wasnt a lot going on. Had to go out to the bay to find some fish.

Nice specks...I havent been able to land a speck since I moved out here but would love to catch one. How are they as table fair?

Specks fry up great. Then again, what doesn't?

Smaller specks tastes about like a white trout to me.  The meat is a lot firmer on the larger ones and are excellent table fare.

Nice catch, they all look like they were 20"s,

except some had shorter tails than others!

HA HA HA!

He said Blackwater, dum dum.

Hey, I live in Milton and have yet to fish the mouth of the Blackwater.  After reading that report I see a trip to those murky waters in my near future.  NICE CATCH
