So the day starts out real ruff when me and my buddy head out in search of some pompano on Navarre beach. We head out and get the to beach at 7:45am and it was really cold! Anyways we stay out there until 10:30am and didin't get a single bite, and we left the beach empty handed and heart broken in hopes of my buddy landing his first pomp. So we decided to head back to the house and eat and use the rest of our fresh shrimp by the dock near his house in Navarre. Just after the sun went down we throw out some nuclear chicken colored gulp shrimp and he lands a 20 inch red, shortly after him I get a huge bite and land a 25 inch red fish that faught a great fight. BTW both fish were caught on nuclear chicken colored gulp shrimp and no bites on fresh shrimp. Not bad for my first kepper red.

| Wow! Your persistence paid off...Sorry you're buddy didn't get his pomp but keeper reds not a bad trade off..All I did today was wishin I was fishin while I worked behind my desk...as I worked, I looked out the window with self pity due to the marine forecast (for the next umpteen days) wondering if some lucky angler was braving the elements some where in paradise catching a fish. You guys made my day! Congrats, and thanks for posting... Jimmy

Nice job!! Let's see some pics of the finished product. Oh man I wish we took pics but we rushed to the house cut the fish up and made redfish on a half shell. When I tell you it was great It doesnt even express the awesomeness of eating some fresh fish you worked all day for to eat!

It's funny because up until now me and my fishing partner havent had anyluck on gulp bait only live bait and were cursing gulp bait out. Then last tuesday I threw some gulp sandfleas out at NB and the pomps were loving it. Seems like the fish are real odd when it comes to live or artificial. BTW the slot red I caught had an empty belly so he must have been hella hungry!

Also keep in mind, when cleaning red fish, those huge scales. I clean my fish outside now, but if you clean it in your kitchen sink watch for those huge scales reds are known for. I don't know what kind of sewer system you have... I have a grinder pump ouside the house. Scales can burn your pump if scales gets its way in the grinder. Just a thought. Also I saw once this guy clean a Red fish with a hammer and a small knife. (if you dont have an electric knife). He used the claw of the hammer to get rid of the scales next to sides of the dorsal fin, once cleared he would fillet the fish really easy that way.

Secondly, I think that Gulp! are the BEST artificial out there on the market. A lot of these southern boys swore by the D. O. A., but nothing outfishes a Gulp!

Thanks for the kind words....as for Gulp I honestly think it is by far the best artificial bait out there and it has proven itself to me and my fellow fishing buddies.
