I have a 98' Yamaha 90HP and the power trim will only go down not up.  I put the boat in and ran it a little over the weekend and it worked fine.  I took it out, washed the boat and went to move it and the trim wouldn't work.  I have 3 trim buttons, motor, shifter and steering wheel and neither would work up, only down.  What do you think?

Try jumping the relay with a screw driver.  Find the relay for up and place a screw driver across the terminals.  If it goes up, you have a bad relay.

yep...sounds like a bad realy...either jump it like was said or swap the 2 relays and you should only have up then...if one relay is going bad i would go ahead and change both of them...they are cheep.

The relays are in one unit on that model. You cannot just jump the main terminals because it will spark on that relay system. You will have to disconnect the three wire connector and use a jumper to get to the activation wire. The blue is up and the green is down. If you hear the relay click an the unit works, see if the blue wire has become disconnected. If the unit does not run, you can disconnect the bigger blue wire attached by a nut on the relay and put it to power to activate the motor to test it. Those relays are the most common to go out on Yamahas.
