Go thru all your battery cable connections.

Did you clean carb's and plugs? You said it sounds like it's trying, right?

its trying just not turning over.

Just not turning over or turning slowly means that the starter motor is not "Cranking" the motor over or turning slow.

Lack of power to the starter is the cause. Not lack of fuel.

If it turns over slowly, then that must be fixed first.

Now there has been in the past and recently also confusion as to terminology.

So what is it doing?

Sounds like Wires need to be cleaned and clean carbs out. For the gasoline formula is different some stations add Alcohol in the gas it evaporates quicker than gasoline. So there maybe some left over deposits in carbs suggest you clean them before trying to start engine.

I let my Scout for 6months at a time. It has a C-90 Yamaha 2 stroke on it. I always add Stabil to it, as I never know how long it will be sitting.

The main thing with this motor is pumping the ball to get the carbs full. Th ball is close to the motor and I can hear the rush of fuel into the carbs.

With a hot battery it fires right up. It will run a little sluggish for 30sec and then clear right up.

My point is that there may be nothing wrong with the carbs.

You have to get the motor spinning over / turning over / cranking at the correct speed to start first.
