I want to go shark fishing for medium size sharks in the bay and pass. I bought myself a Penn Reel that will hold about 375 yards of 30lb test. I need a rod to compliment it but am not sure which to buy. Trying to get the best deal for the buck. Should i just get a strong Ugly Stick? Or is something else a better choice. Thanks!

Are you going to try casting long distances or drifting baits with a balloon or other method?

If it's 36" +- your after any stout rod should do. I catch mine with an old Quick Saltwater reel and a new Shakespeare white rod bought from Walmart. Good hunting to ya.
