Finally boated my first Cobia today.  Went out for the MBT G&H tourney and had a great day of diving.  The fish were ok.  Nothing big.  But on the last dive of the day, a small cobia came swimming up.  Got a good shot and on the stringer he went.  He went 38" and 16.13 lbs.  Not as big as the monster one that got away about a month and a half ago.  But my first on the boat none the less.

Those looking for a Viz report.  Well go out deep.  We were out 15 miles south of the pass with 0 visibility.  It was like diving at night and your light still does not allow you to see.  The muck was from 0-105 feet.  All the way down to the bottom.  But others did report ok visibility slightly to the east a bit from where we were.  We eventually just made the run south to get into some good water.

Nope, oddly enough, the shot did not stone him.  Must have missed the brain by a cm.  He gave me a little fit.

Not a biggie but a goodie. I will be honest with you I have shot dozens and haven't found a kill spot yet. I shot a 56#er and got drug all over the gulf. Ended up 1100 yards away from the boat so my buddy tied a life vest on the anchor rope and threw over and came and plucked me out of the water.
