| I understand that the fishing (Red's and Spec's) will be better as it get's cooler in the sound and bay here in Navarre, but when does it taper off, how cold is too cold ? And also where will they be located as it gets cooler, IE: docks, grass flats, deep water ??

When the water ices over, chisel a hole in it and keep fishing. It's never to cold to fish.

Around here cold is usually Jan. and Feb. Only to cold for us air breathers. Water temp is usually in the upper 50's so fish in the deeper holes and mouths of the rivers and creeks. And most of all slow down your retrieve to slowwwww.

| The coldest the water gets around here is in the 50s. The lowest I've ever seen it is 48 on blackwater. Fish the deep spots and creek mouths for all around best luck. If its been sunny most of the day you can give the flats a try, they are usually best in the afternoon of a warm day. In a way it also depends on what you are fishing for. Some fish like cooler water such as specks, strippers, and hybrids. But then you have redfish flounder and black drum that dont care for the cold water as much. The best cold water bait all around is live bait. For specks ,strippers ,and hybrids my three artificials of choice are : 1] white or chart. jig 2] any kind of suspend bait, my favorite being smithwick super rogues 3] topwater Flounder generally leave around November and dont show up again till late March, early April. For them i use a jig or worm with a jig head all the time. For the reds ill use a jig most of the time, on warm days ill try a deep dive crankbait. I let it dig into the bottom and slowly float back up. I hope this will help ya out.
